Blackout was born in 2009 in the eastern sector of the capital, José Maria Zeledon ,Curridabat. There, Fabian Brenes known through a mutual friend Allan Jimenez who was in search of musicians with similar influences and who wanted to create a new band. After that, under the recommendation of Fabian, he presented the guitarist Dennis Corrales. Since then given the opportunity to meet and work on some covers and general ideas.

After several proposals eliminated, the ''preliminary' name was 'Temptation" and began the composition of original songs.
Songs such as Nuclear Holocaust and Killing Machine were among the first songs to be created by the band. More and more songs have been added over the next two years of work.

By 2010, there were massive changes in the way we work and the image of the group, leaving aside the name Temptation to become Blackout!
By September of the same year, after a long search, Michael Stephens joins the band to finish shaping the instrumental part of the group and Harold Sotela joins on vocals, giving the first formation of the band.

On December 18, 2010, Blackout debuts in the Curridabat Park at the event "Curridabat Metal Holocaust", featuring three original tracks (Capital Chaos, Nuclear Holocaust, Killing Machine) and a cover (Holy Wars ... The Punishment Due from Megadeth) and marking the beginning of a new stage - The Blackout ages ....
Two months after, Harold left the band to get their personal projects, forcing Blackout to find a new vocalist.
After many "interviews" we decided to give the position to Fabian Brenes and by April of 2011, joins a new member, who would replace Fabian, Walter Gomez on bass.

Earlier on this year Fabian Brenes left the band, forcing us to go through the same process of searching a new vocalist and by April 2012, Cesar Fuentes joins the band.
